Grooming Under the Supervision of Professionals

The ZooDoc team consists of veterinarians with many years of experience. Every procedure is performed with an understanding of anatomy, physiology, and potential risks, which eliminates injuries during grooming.

Professional Cosmetics

We use only tested, hypoallergenic products that do not disrupt the skin’s lipid barrier, and we know how to properly care for pets with atopic conditions (allergies) and sensitive breeds.

Clinical Sterility Standards

All tools, tables, and tubs are sterilized and disinfected after each pet. The risk of infection transmission is reduced to zero.

Pet Pickup – Ljubljana & Suburbs

If you have errands to run, we can come and pick up your pet in advance and provide them with a comfortable stay in the salon before and after the procedures.

Health Check During Procedures

Every visit with us is not just a haircut, but also an initial examination (screening). During the visit, we carefully check your pet.

If we notice any health issues, we provide professional recommendations and immediately inform you if a visit to a veterinary clinic is necessary.

FAQ

How often should I bring my pet for grooming?

Frequency depends on the breed and coat type. Long-haired pets usually need grooming every 4–6 weeks, while short-haired pets typically every 2–3 months. Cats should be brought as needed, usually every 1–3 months.

When should a puppy have its first haircut?

The first haircut is done after two months so the puppy gets used to the procedures and doesn’t fear them in the future. All procedures begin only after mandatory vaccination by a veterinarian.

Do I need to prepare my pet for grooming in advance?

No special preparation is required, but it’s recommended to take your pet for a walk beforehand. If your pet has behavioral quirks or allergies, it’s best to inform us in advance.

What does the standard full grooming include?

Typically, it includes bathing, blow-drying, haircut, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and undercoat treatment if necessary. All procedures are customized according to your pet’s coat and skin condition.

Are the procedures and products safe?

Yes. We use professional, veterinarian-approved products and modern equipment. All products are suitable even for sensitive animals, and each approach is tailored to the individual pet.

Can I wait in the salon while my pet is being groomed?

Dogs are usually calmer and less anxious when alone, moving less and not trying to jump into your arms. Therefore, it’s safer for grooming and related procedures to be done privately with the groomer. Usually, within a few minutes, the dog realizes there’s no danger, everything is done correctly, with care and love, and starts behaving calmly. However, some dogs feel more comfortable with their owner present. In such cases, you can stay nearby and observe the grooming, but please do not enter the working area. You can always stay in the salon to watch.

Do you use anesthetics or other sedatives for grooming?

We do not use anesthetics, sedatives, or other calming drugs during grooming. Such preparation is not needed for hygienic procedures. All grooming is performed with care, love, and professionalism, with an individual approach for each pet.

How long does grooming take?

The duration depends on the breed, size, and coat condition. For small breeds, grooming usually takes 1.5–3 hours. For large breeds or particularly nervous animals, sessions may take longer.
